How it started

The idea came from a frustration with the gap between original art and the people who love it. Original paintings are expensive. Museum prints are generic. Digital art lives on a screen and disappears when the app does. There was nothing in the middle — something physical, collectible, artist-credited, and priced for a real person to actually own.

The answer turned out to be hiding in plain sight: the trading card. A 2.5 × 3.5-inch card is the most durable, portable, displayable format ever invented for a small object. Collectors have understood this for a hundred years. The ACEO format (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) already existed in the fine art world. All that was missing was the right artist and the right production standard.

The format

Every Minicuration print is a museum-quality reproduction of an original painting, printed at 2.5 × 3.5 inches on archival stock. Each card is numbered — the edition is printed on the back, and once 50 prints of a design are gone, that design is never reprinted.

The back of every card carries the artist's statement: the medium, the surface, and the concept behind the work in the artist's own words. You're not just buying an image — you're buying a piece of the story behind it.

Every print ships sealed inside a magnetic acrylic collector's case with a display stand. It's ready to prop on a desk, slot into a bookshelf, or store flat in a collection. The format is identical to premium trading card storage, which means it slots into any standard card sleeve or binder if you're building a collection.

The artist

Minicuration's inaugural collection features fourteen works by JFeelgood, an independent mixed-media painter whose practice spans acrylic, latex, epoxy resin, gold leaf, crackle medium, and found objects on canvas and wood panel. His work is personal, textural, and built around the belief that a painting should carry the weight of the experience that made it.

The fourteen prints in this collection range from intimate meditations on craft and memory to large-feeling landscapes compressed to card scale. Each one was chosen because it does something that doesn't survive shrinking — and then it does.

Why 50?

Fifty is small enough to mean something and large enough to let the work reach people. An edition of 50 means a collector can reasonably expect to own one of the earlier numbered prints. It means the work retains scarcity without becoming inaccessible. And it means that when an edition sells out, it's genuinely gone — not restocked, not reprinted, not re-released in a slightly different format.

Every Minicuration print is numbered sequentially, starting at 01. The number you receive is the number on your card. No two collectors own the same piece of the same edition.

Common Questions

FAQ

What size are Minicuration prints?

Every print is 2.5 × 3.5 inches — the standard ACEO (Art Cards, Editions and Originals) size, identical to a trading card. Each arrives sealed inside a magnetic acrylic collector's case with a display stand included.

How many prints are made of each design?

Each design is strictly limited to 50 numbered prints. Once all 50 editions sell, the design is never reprinted. The edition number is printed on the back of every card.

Are these reproductions or original artworks?

They are museum-quality reproductions of original paintings by JFeelgood. The original paintings are unique artworks. The prints bring the work to collectors at an accessible price, with full artist credit and a numbered edition.

What is printed on the back of each card?

The back carries the artist's statement for that specific work — the concept, the medium, and the story behind the painting — along with the edition number and the artist's name.

How is the print packaged?

Each print is sealed inside a magnetic acrylic collector's case (the same format used for premium trading card storage) with a clear display stand so you can prop it on a desk or shelf right away.

Do you ship internationally?

International shipping availability is handled through Stripe Checkout at the time of purchase. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on destination.
